About the MASL

The Minnesota Amateur Soccer League (MASL) is Minnesota's sanctioned competitive men's soccer league.

Division Alignment

Division 1 features Minnesota's 10 most competitive teams.  Each team plays an 18-game regular season schedule comprised of one home and one away game against the other 9 teams in the division. At the conclusion of the 18-game regular season, the bottom 2 teams are relegated to Division 2 and are replaced by the top 2 teams from Division 2 for the following season.

Division 2 alignment and schedule is the same as that of the Division 1. At the conclusion of the 18-game regular season, the bottom 2 teams are relegated to Division 3 and are replaced by the top 2 teams from Division 3 for the following season.

Division 3 alignment and schedule is the same as that of Divisions 1 and 2. At the conclusion of the 18-game regular season, the bottom 2 teams are relegated to Division 4 and are replaced by the top 2 teams from Division 4 for the following season.

Division 4 alignment and schedule is similar to the other divisions except for the number of teams playing in Division 4. Since all new teams must start in Division 4, the number of teams and alignment can change from year to year. At the conclusion of the 18-game regular season, the top 2 teams are promoted to Division 3 for the following season.

Division Gamedays

Division 1 & 4: Thursday/Sunday

Division 2 & 3: Tuesday/Sunday

Most games during the week start at either 6:30pm or 8:30pm and weekend games start at 12pm, 2pm, or 4pm on the weekends, depending on the division.

Division Standings

Within each division, standings are generated based on the regular season game results with the standard association football point system (3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw). The group winners for each division are based on the team with the most points within that group. Refer to the STANDINGS page for the League or within each Division, for more information.
